There are several types of automotive air conditioning compressors
1.Scroll Compressor:
- Known as the 4th generation technology, scroll compressors are characterized by their unique design (a moving scroll and a stationary scroll) and high efficiency. The dynamic and static scroll design ensures efficient and stable compression.
2.Rotary Vane Compressor:
- With circular or elliptical cylinders, the movement of rotor blades creates changes in the cylinder space, enabling compression and release of refrigerant.
3.Wobble Plate Compressor:
- Converts the rotation of the shaft-mounted wobble plate into reciprocal motion of the pistons. It has a complex structure but is lightweight and easy to install in compact engine compartments.
4.Fixed Displacement Compressor:
- Its displacement increases proportionally with engine speed and cannot automatically adjust power output. It relies on temperature sensors and electromagnetic clutches to start and stop.
5.Variable Displacement Compressor:
- Capable of automatically adjusting power output based on set temperatures, maintaining a comfortable temperature throughout the refrigeration process.
6.Crankshaft Connecting Rod Compressor:
- Works through four stages: compression, exhaust, expansion, and suction. The crankshaft drives the connecting rod to move the piston reciprocally, changing the working volume of the cylinder periodically.
7.Axial Piston Compressor:
- Also known as the 2nd generation compressor, common types include rocker arm or tilt plate. It features parallel piston motion with the main shaft, providing stable performance.
Each type of compressor has its unique design and application range. Choosing the right compressor is crucial for the performance of automotive air conditioning systems.
